Neemraana 8/2019
Neemraana is located about 2 hours outside Delhi in the state of Rajasthan. There is an ancient restored fort called the Neemraana Fort that we stayed in. There are winding narrow passageways in the fort and every place you walk is steep stone. Every room has a different look, feel, and size. We stayed in a beautiful room whose most memorable feature was the view from sitting on the toilet. When you sat on the toilet, you could look through a tiny arched window, no taller than 3 inches, and see the most amazing few of the fort, perfectly centered. If you were standing in the bathroom, you would not see the view. You had to be sitting on the toilet.
The food was delicious and there were multiple places to eat as well as two pools. There are also stepwells nearby, and we went to the village to see them. We bought 2 paintings--1 parakeet painted on an old property agreement, and 1 painting of a Rajasthani princess. We were there with a group of other new staff at the school. The school arranged it.
